Pengersick Castle, Cornwall Elopement Wedding Venue Showcase

Pengersick Castle, Praa Sands, Penzance TR20 9SJ

I love elopement weddings here at Steven Rees Webb Wedding Photography. So, when Danielle reached out to me on my Facebook page, I was delighted. They are based in Essex and planned to come down for a lovely elopement wedding with their kids and two dogs.

They needed a photographer to document their special milestone for a few hours. I have just the perfect elopement package for that, so it was the ideal match. They booked in, and things were set to go.

This intimate wedding happened at Pengersick Castle, which is just perfect for elopement weddings in Cornwall. I had such a lovely time capturing the events of Danielle and Toby’s special day there.

Here’s a recap of this gorgeous August intimate wedding in Cornwall.

The Cornish Wedding Venue

As I mentioned earlier, Danielle and Toby had their wedding at Pengersick Castle. Located in Praa Sands, this venue boasts stunning gardens, a rich history and breathtaking architecture. It dates back to the 12th century and can host up to 40 guests.

Pengersick Castle offers couples up to six different spaces to host their wedding. Three of those are licensed for couples who choose to use a registrar. All of the spaces at this venue have charm and ooze character, as you’ll see from the pictures of Danielle and Toby’s wedding.

Getting Ready

I started the day by capturing the kids and the dogs as they got ready for the ceremony. Pengersick Castle is a pet-friendly wedding venue, so they had no qualms with their animal friends tagging along. I also captured essential details like the wedding cake and the wedding rings.

Next, I captured Danielle as she had her makeup done by Stacey Nadene Makeup - St Ives. The makeup artist did a lovely job, and Danielle looked beautiful. After makeup, it was time for Simone Green Wedding Hair - St Ives to give Danielle a fabulous bridal hairdo. She also did a great job; then it was time for the dress.

Once Danielle put on her fabulous wedding dress, I captured some lovely bridal portraits. We made use of the mirror for great poses during this. For all the rest, I used my candid wedding photography. This is where I capture images while staying out of the way.

Pengersick Castle Elopement Wedding Ceremony

Toby and the boys were already waiting at the altar when Danielle and their daughter arrived for the ceremony. The look on Toby’s face when he saw Danielle is one to remember. Everyone looked thrilled to be at the ceremony.

For the ceremony, the celebrant led the event while the children and the pugs were witnesses. I had a lovely time documenting this using my candid wedding photography again. The couple said their vows, exchanged rings and then signed their certificate. It was all stunning and intimate.

Cornish Wedding Day Photoshoot

We used the breathtaking gardens at Pengersick Castle for the wedding day photoshoot. I had such a lovely time capturing Mr and Mrs Rising, their kids and their pugs. Everyone looked amazing, and the garden made a gorgeous backdrop.

This Cornish wedding day photoshoot also allowed me to use my natural photography skills. I took couple portraits, family portraits and then pictures of the kids. We also used the rolling green lawns, and everyone had fun. I didn’t forget to capture details like the wedding rings and the bride’s bouquet. The castle made a lovely backdrop for photos.

Pengersick Castle Wedding Picnic

One thing I love about elopement weddings is that they are so unique. You can choose which traditions to use and which to let go of. This makes them very memorable as you are better able to personalize them.

Instead of a regular ol’ Cornish wedding reception, The Rising family had a lovely wedding reception. I am so glad I could document their beautiful experience. The cake looked fabulous, and so did the spreads for the picnic. It was candlelit with fantastic décor, including a coat of armour. How many people can boast of that at their wedding?

This lovely picnic was prepared by Pretty Picnic Fowey. Danielle, Toby and their three children had a lovely time enjoying it and each other’s presence. I took beautiful pictures of the meals and the toasts shared.

In Conclusion

I had a fabulous time documenting this Pengersick Castle elopement wedding. The Risings are a delightful couple, and their kids are great, too, not to mention their dogs. I also used my black and white photography at this wedding to capture timeless images alongside the others. They came out looking amazing.

Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your lovely celebration, Danielle and Toby. I wish you both and your beautiful family the best now and always.
