The Old Barn is a lovely wedding venue at Bideford, Devon. It is on the grounds of the Milky Way Adventure Park. Trevor and Christine Stanbury initially owned this wedding venue. It is now run by Tara and Jacqui, their daughter and daughter-in-law.
One thing you'll love about this wedding venue is how connected the owners are to the place. Tara grew up in this location and had her own wedding here. Jacqui had her wedding here too. You can be sure that this is a wedding venue that knows what couples need and will be ready to assist.
Trevor and Christine also continue to keep a close eye on how the place is run.
Your Wedding at The Old Barn
The Old Barn is great for couples who want a serene countryside wedding. If you want a fun party, it's the perfect space too. This is because it offers you a blank canvass that you can design however you wish. Couples have been known to even handle their wedding décor themselves at this venue.
So, this venue works if you're planning a rustic, boho, vintage, classic, or festival wedding. You can also hold your wedding elsewhere and just have your reception at this venue. Below are the spaces they have to offer.
The Old Barn offers three wonderful spaces for couples in Devon to have their wedding. First is the Old Barn itself, with its mix of old and modern charm. You'll love the stone walls, oak beams and simple décor. It's a blank canvass that you can decorate however you wish.
Next is the conservatory, which adjoins the Old Barn and is vine-clad, creating a beautiful atmosphere. Here ceremonies are conducted under hanging grapevines in front of friends and family. This space is licensed for up to 100 guests and also overlooks a beautiful private courtyard garden.
Lastly are the dodgems themselves. Most couples tend to incorporate this as part of the fun during their celebration. You can, however, have a funfair celebration and get hitched on them too. Think of how different and fun this could be.
Your Wedding Reception
Wedding receptions at the Old Barn are fun experiences. You can use the Old Barn itself for your reception. It can seat 100 guests for your wedding breakfast and up to 200 for evening parties. The adjoining conservatory is also open for extra seating, chilling and even a photo booth.
The Old Barn also offers a fun twist to your evening celebration. Although this venue is sheltered from the park, you can have a lovely time with your guests after it's closed. I'm talking the dodgems, roller coasters, giant bouncing pillows and all. It's a fabulous location.

The Old Barn has a dedicated kitchen and outside space for more relaxed catering. You can bring your own caterers. They have a list of recommended suppliers too. They have a licensed bar. However, you can bring your own welcome drinks and wine for your meal. They don't charge corkage too.
