Frieda and the Moon, Elopement Wedding Venue Showcase

Frieda and the Moon, An Skiber Goth, Looe, Cornwall, PL13 2NT

I love small weddings, they are the most intimate, and the display of love and closeness is always beautiful. Small and intimate weddings are a delight to document; you can see the love shining through every photograph in the album.

Choosing the perfect venue for your Cornish elopement wedding is very important. Going with a regular wedding venue can feel a little empty with fewer guests. You need a venue that suits your wedding numbers and helps to make everyone feel special.

After documenting Mr and Mrs Smith's wedding at Frieda and The Moon, I could not wait to see the photos through to completion. Couples planning a small and intimate celebration will so love this location. Below, I share my thoughts on why this is perfect for small weddings and pictures from the gorgeous wedding I captured there.

History of Frieda and the Moon

Okay, first, I know you're wondering about the unique name, so let's get that out of the way. Frieda and the Moon is inspired by Ted Hughes's poem Full Moon and Little Frieda. This poem perfectly sums up the concept of the perfect hideaway that this beautiful wedding venue portrays.

Frieda and the Moon is located at An Skiber Goth, Tresawson, Lanreath and is a hidden treasure you'll enjoy. The breathtaking tranquillity of the secluded valley and the rolling views give you a glimpse into this venue's beauty. Your time here will be unforgettable.

Wedding Celebration at Frieda and the Moon

Frieda and the Moon is perfect for small weddings, elopements, vow renewals, and pagan marriages. For this reason, it takes a maximum of 12 people, including the couple. This is a family-run business, so every wedding here is personal and one of a kind.

Small weddings need a different approach, and this is a skill that Frieda and the Moon have perfected. The Smith family enjoyed themselves here, as you'll see from the pictures. Below is a glimpse into what this wedding venue has to offer couples.

Wedding Ceremony

For your wedding ceremony, Frieda and the Moon offers two beautiful spaces:

The Studio

Couples planning a wedding at Frieda and The Moon can have their ceremony at The Studio. This gorgeous little space is licensed and timber framed with oak floors and stained glass. You can get a registrar to make your wedding here legal, and the owners can even stand in as your witnesses.

Couples can also have a celebrant-led wedding ceremony at the Studio. This can be a standalone celebration but usually takes place after the legal ceremony. Mr and Mrs Smith had their lovely ceremony with their kids in the Studio.

The Hornbeam Circle

Say your "I dos" in an unforgettable ceremony surrounded by romantic circles at twilight. The Hornbeam Circle is the second ceremony space at Frieda and the Moon and is a delight. You'll feel very at one with nature in this woodland groove with fairy lights. The availability of this space, however, depends on the weather.

Wedding Reception

Wedding receptions at Frieda and the Moon take place at the Studio. The venue handles in-house catering, depending on your wedding number. You could also have a blue horsebox catering wagon set up anywhere on site for your evening celebration.

Wedding Catering

Catering at this venue includes breakfast hampers, high tea, a grazing table, a bbq crate and a café menu. All of these are prepared in the venue kitchen, but takeout, visiting caterers and other services can be arranged for larger groups. Please note that vegan alternatives are available.

Wedding Photography

As you can see, the venue makes for fantastic wedding photographs that you will surely treasure for decades. There are photo opportunities all around the venue, wether its the hornbeam circle, the studio, the grounds overlooking the rolling hills or even the local beach if you want to feel the sand between your toes!

Wedding Bouquet

Every bouquet at Frieda and the Moon is a one-off and made just for you. This is so lovely and ensures that every couple becomes a part of the beautiful story of this venue. The bouquet is made to fit with the wedding colours and incorporates seasonal wildflowers and foliage. Each bouquet is also named after the bride that carries it.

Accommodation

For your accommodation at this venue are two unique spaces- the tabernacle and the observatory. Both sleep two and come with a private hot tub. You'll get just the romantic getaway you've always wanted if you book this venue.

If you're a small wedding party of 4, you can book these. For weddings with more guests, you can find lovely bed and breakfasts and holiday cottages nearby to book for the duration of the celebrations.

Ring Bearers

Want to spice up your ceremony? How about using Little Man the Alpaca or Figgy the Owl as your ring bearers? They'll look fabulous in your wedding pictures, an experience you and your loved ones will never forget.

Music

Frieda and The Moon understand that personalisation is essential to your wedding. So whatever requests you have for your entertainment, just let them know. Paul and Babs, the couple, are also accomplished musicians and entertainers who can provide this service.
