Polhawn Fort Castle Wedding Venue Showcase

Polhawn Fort, Rame Head, Torpoint PL10 1LL

Up next in my series of Cornish castle wedding venues is Polhawn Fort, a beautiful coastal wedding venue with unforgettable views. This was where I captured the delightful wedding of Mr and Mrs Bailey. The couple booked my four-hour photography package and received nearly 400 beautiful hand-edited photos. Every moment from the wedding ceremony to the wedding photos and reception was special.

Are you looking for a peaceful and serene Cornish wedding venue? Polhawn Fort has a lot to offer couples and their guests. In this post, I discuss what this wedding venue offers and showcase lovely pictures from Mr and Mrs Bailey's Polhawn Fort wedding celebration.

Brief History

Polhawn Fort has a rich history and was built in the 1800s to prevent landing from hostiles at Whitsand Bay. The fort was part of what is known as the Napoleonic Forts and was initially known as Polhawn Battery. For this reason, every room in this lovely wedding venue has breathtaking views of the seas.

I had a lovely time capturing the grounds of Polhawn Fort as much as possible during this celebration. Everything was so picturesque that I couldn't resist. You'll love the ancient stones, rolling lawns and views of the seas.

Polhawn Fort is now sympathetically refurbished and has modern amenities while retaining its historic charm. It offers couples a once-in-a-lifetime wedding surrounded by their loved ones. Here's a look at weddings at this beautiful wedding destination.

Your Wedding at Polhawn Fort

Polhawn Fort is located at Ram Head and is a unique secluded destination perfect for a wedding getaway. No one will stumble into this venue by mistake, so you can be sure it'll be just you and your loved ones for your celebration. A wedding at this destination would be like an intimate holiday with your loved ones.

Polhawn Fort offers couples a chance to have the wedding of their dreams in a secluded destination in Cornwall. This venue provides exclusivity for the number of days you book for your celebration. It also has many beautiful opportunities for pictures.

Wedding Ceremony Options

Polhawn Fort offers both indoor and outdoor spaces for your Cornish wedding. The Grand Napoleonic is an indoor wedding space that can host up to 100 guests. This is where Mr and Mrs Bailey's wedding ceremony started in the afternoon.

Indoor Spaces

Next in indoor spaces is the Emperor's room for intimate wedding celebrations. It can only host up to 30 guests for your ceremony. Couples love that the space is highly customizable and can be made to fit their wedding vision.

Outdoor Spaces

Polhawn Fort also has outdoor spaces available. The summerhouse gives couples a chance to say their vows to the sound of the waves, a private beach and views of the coastline stretching into the distance. Whichever you choose, the result is the same - an unforgettable experience for you and your loved ones.

Wedding Reception

Wedding receptions at Polhawn Fort can also happen indoors or outdoors. Indoor spaces include the Grand Napoleonic and the Emperor's Room. Outdoor wedding receptions at this venue happen in a Marquee on the lawn.

Planning Team

Polhawn Fort has a lovely wedding planning team dedicated to helping couples plan the celebration of a lifetime. As you'll see from the reviews, this team is excellent at what they do, and couples love working with them.

Photo Opportunities

As a photographer, I have to mention the fantastic wedding photo opportunities around the venue. Whether you get married inside or out, your ceremony photos will be something to remember. Being right on the coast, the weather can be unpredictable, so it's essential to choose a photographer that is experienced in dealing with quickly changing weather and confident photographing in dimly lit environments. The subtle lighting in the indoor ceremony space creates a gorgeous moody theme, but with the wrong camera settings, substandard equipment or both, you may end up with poor-quality photos.

Accommodation

This venue allows couples to host 24 family and friends onsite for their celebration. You all get access to exclusive facilities like the summerhouse, tennis court and private access to the beach. Staying options include a weekend, split mid-week and midweek stay.

Catering

Polhawn Fort has banqueting equipment catering to as many as 100 guests. This venue does not do your catering but has a great list of trusted vendors you can work with for your celebration. Outside catering is also allowed, and the venue has a fully equipped commercial kitchen that you can use.

Parking

At the Polhawn Fort, a private parking area can accommodate as many as 50 cars for your celebration. More parking space can also be arranged in a nearby field if necessary.

Exclusivity

From 4 pm on the day you arrive till when you leave, you and your guests have exclusive use of Polhawn Fort. This puts all of the facilities and amenities at your disposal.

Vendors

Polhawn Fort has a list of trusted vendors to use for your celebration at their Cornish wedding venue. However, couples are free to choose their own vendors. Polhawn Fort has no extra costs or hidden fees attached to this, which is excellent. I do not support venues that lock you into their chosen suppliers.

Pricing

Polhawn Fort has a very extensive pricing page where you can check for venue availability and pricing. Wedding prices depend on the day of the week and whether you choose a three-night, four-night or two-night stay for your celebration. Prices range from £5,995 - £19,780.

Final Words

I had a lovely day capturing the wedding of Mr and Mrs Bailey at Polhawn Fort. It was a beautiful wedding celebration as a picturesque and serene Cornish wedding venue. I loved taking pictures of their couple and their guests. For more information on this wedding venue, please check out their website and contact their planning team, be sure to tell them I sent you.
